About the Role

The Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) is a Secretariat within the executive branch of the Commonwealth responsible for directing and executing the Governor's agenda on economic, community and business development, job creation, consumer affairs, and business regulation. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data-oriented policy analysis on behalf of the executive office, including analyzing reports and trends within the economy and preparing updates for senior leadership.
  • Manage research related to demographic and economic trends affecting department programs and policy, including independent research and projections.
  • Develop and manage a dashboard for real-time data collection and performance metrics for the executive office.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries; work on special projects assigned by senior leadership.
  • Engage with external policy organizations, think tanks, and consultants.
  • Track the implementation of the economic development plan.
  • Manage research efforts and analysis of economic trends, labor markets, and sectors, presenting findings to influence policy decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide policy insights and strategic input.
  • Gather data from other Secretariats (e.g., unemployment trends, migration, commuting habits) to inform decision-making.
  • Work with communications teams to prepare background information for briefings and remarks.
  • Attend internal and external meetings to gather insights and build knowledge.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of full-time or equivalent experience in business administration, management, public administration, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a project management, supervisory, or managerial capacity.
  • Experience with data analysis, statistical principles, and visualization tools.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Ability to interpret data from sources like census, BLS, BEA.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of economic and econometric principles.
  • Experience with government agencies.
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Work, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Tableau.
