Director of Development, Foundations

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains regular open communication and collaborates with senior leadership, clinicians, and supporting staff to ascertain needs and impact to then match these with donors and potential donors.
• Maintains a portfolio of 120-140 potential, major, and estate gift donors.
• Responsible for raising $2,000,000 annually for the beneficiary or exceeding the beneficiary goal.
• Conducts 240-400 meetings per year and solicits 20-24 major gifts per year (minimum of $25,000 for multi-year pledges), managed in Raisers Edge through the Proposal module.
• Conducts 20% of meetings in Identification.
• Increases by 10% year over year the number of new prospects added to the beneficiary pipeline (3-year rolling average).
• Manages the beneficiary Board meetings activities and communicates regularly with members between meetings.
• Serves on Foundation Presidents Leadership Cabinet and provides knowledge and expertise to elevate fundraising performance.
• Develops strategic fundraising plans, conceptualizes key trends, and identifies viable fundraising opportunities.
• Provides mentorship and training to development professionals by modeling best practices in fundraising.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare, or Philanthropy.
• 7 years of experience in philanthropy.
• 7 years of experience working in a hospital setting.
• Demonstrated experience in major and estate gift acquisition.

Nice to Have

• Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare, Philanthropy or other higher education degree.
• CFRE Certified Fund Raising Executive or other philanthropic education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields
• 7 years experience in philanthropy and hospital setting
• Experience in major and estate gift acquisition
