About the Role

The Director of Product, Growth position will report to the Chief Product Officer. This role involves driving experimentation on product funnels, defining and executing strategies to engage and nurture potential customers, partnering with engineering, data, and marketing teams to optimize testing and personalization, launching new products to increase engagement and cross-sell, developing APIs and embedded experiences for growth, and leading a small team of Product Managers. The company is focused on making higher education accessible and affordable through innovative financial tools and services, including private student loans, student loan refinancing, and scholarships, with a mission to help students live their best lives free from student debt.

Key Responsibilities

Drive experimentation on product funnels to optimize performance and maximize customer loan origination.
Define and execute a product strategy to engage and nurture customers who are not yet ready to become clients but will be in the future.
Partner with engineering, data, and marketing teams to ensure a strong foundation for testing, personalization, and funnel optimization.
Lead the launch of new products to drive engagement and cross-sell from existing customers.
Develop APIs and embedded experiences to facilitate growth from partner channels.
Lead and develop a small team of Product Managers as a player/coach.

Requirements

7+ years of experience launching and growing successful consumer digital lending or fintech products.
2+ years of experience leading a team of Product Managers.
Experience optimizing online customer acquisition funnels across multiple channels and products.
Experience growing customer engagement and cross-selling/monetization strategies.
A data-driven approach influencing product decisions and pivots.
Deep experience setting up, running, and measuring A/B tests.
Ability to manage and optimize a testing roadmap based on data and customer insights.
Experience integrating martech infrastructure to enable growth through marketing and sales channels.
An entrepreneurial mentality with a desire to change the world and a sense of urgency.
Ability to think strategically while paying attention to customer experience details.
Executive presence and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including C-level executives.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field.

Nice to Have

Experience with sophisticated testing methodologies such as contextual, multi-arm bandits.
Experience launching growth features or freemium offerings from 0-1.
Experience partnering closely with marketing teams to open new distribution channels.
Experience building embedded product experiences with partners.
