Director of Product Management - Workers Compensation

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Profit and Loss accountability for multiple insurance product line(s) and/or geographies.
• Report Profit and Loss growth performance results of assigned product(s) to key stakeholders.
• Achieve underwriting profit and growth objectives through product, pricing, underwriting, and other actions in close partnership with cross-functional team members.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to develop a multi-year customer-centric product strategy for assigned product(s).
• Monitor product performance to identify, diagnose, and respond to changing trends.
• Analyze and evaluate product performance metrics to recommend market opportunities, risk appetite expansion, and innovative product enhancements.
• Acquire market and competitive intelligence and develop knowledge of emerging trends to stay competitive.
• Identify market opportunities, define product vision and strategy, and deliver exceptional financial results.
• Develop business cases for new products and enhancements, and analyze strategic initiatives including cost savings, ROI, and payback period.
• Ensure product integration with marketing, sales, underwriting, and operations, and stay informed on legislative, regulatory, market, and competitive changes.
• Ensure product decisions and processes align with company policies and legal/regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills to address root causes and implement changes efficiently.
• Manage talent, including hiring, performance management, employee development, and succession planning.
• Manage priorities, workload distribution, and remove barriers to progress.

Requirements

• 12+ years of industry experience in Insurance Product Management or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in Insurance Product Management.
• Knowledge of market research, change management planning, quality assurance, and insurance operations.
• Familiarity with enterprise application software, product strategy, agile project management, and technology solutions.
• Ability to develop product roadmaps, manage business relationships, and analyze product requirements.
• Certified Product Manager (CPM).
• Strong leadership, collaboration, strategic thinking, customer focus, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to manage complexity, drive vision, ensure accountability, and develop talent.

Nice to Have

• Experience with insurance operations and enterprise software solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of market research and change management planning.
• Additional certifications related to product management or insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Certified Product Manager (CPM).
