About the Role

The role of Director of Release Management involves overseeing release environments, supporting client-facing applications, and ensuring system stability across multiple platforms to make a global impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the IT Production Support team, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Ensure uptime and stability for hosted client environments.
  • Implement tools and automation for build, configuration management, continuous integration (CI), static and dynamic code analysis, deployment, and application monitoring.
  • Develop and evolve infrastructure, server, deployment strategies, and testing to support quick turnaround of deployments.
  • Collaborate with Monitoring Engineering to ensure all relevant KPIs are implemented within the monitoring framework.
  • Work closely with Development, QA, Network, and Infrastructure Teams to ensure seamless and successful releases.
  • Maintain and improve the automation of the release process while ensuring correct access controls and securing applications.
  • Oversee the maintenance of Development, Test, QA, and Production environments with regards to application functionality.
  • Lead Production Support activities during release migrations.
  • Continuously improve infrastructure to be easy to deploy, scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant.
  • Participate in capacity planning, tuning systems stability, provisioning, and scaling of the application infrastructure.
  • Manage the on-call rotation and ensure adequate coverage.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 7+ years of relevant, broad engineering experience, including leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams effectively.
  • An obsessive desire to automate as much as possible.
  • Exposure to the architecture and design of n-tier systems and micro-services.
  • Experience in an agile development environment.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk.
  • 7+ years' experience with Linux and Unix systems.
  • 7+ years' experience supporting services, micro-services, and n-tier systems.
  • 7+ years' experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl.
  • 5+ years' experience with software automation technologies.
  • 5+ years' experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery practices.
  • 5+ years' experience with Infrastructure-As-Code practices.
  • 5+ years' experience with Version Control tools and platforms such as Git, GitHub, Subversion.
  • 5+ years' experience with Collaboration platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, Wiki, ServiceNow.
  • 5+ years' experience with Containerization technologies such as Docker, Pivotal.
  • 5+ years' experience with Virtualization technologies such as KVM, Xen, VMWare.
  • 5+ years' experience with Services such as Apache, NGINX, HAProxy, Varnish, PHP, Tomcat, Node.js, MySQL, MariaDB.
  • Understanding of AWS Cloud technologies.
  • Ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action and decision while maintaining focus on achieving outcomes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with HTTP, HTTPS, XML, SQL, REST API testing, and Linux.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Salary range of $132,000.00 - $231,100.00 (applicable to employees in New Jersey, New York, and California).
