About the Role

As a member of the property's Executive Committee, the Director of Sales is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership. The Director of Sales has direct oversight of the Sales and Marketing operation of the hotel, including responsibility for the Sales and Marketing Budget/P&L, revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing and writing business plans, and ownership meetings. The role involves supervising sales managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff, as well as recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and coaching sales staff to meet company goals and maximize hotel revenues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Sales and Marketing operation of the hotel, including budget/P&L management, revenue forecasting, advertising, and marketing.
  • Develop and write business plans and participate in ownership meetings.
  • Supervise sales managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff.
  • Recruit, hire, train, manage, and coach sales staff to meet company goals and maximize hotel revenues.
  • Monitor and manage the group and transient contractual agreement process, including quoting rates, sending referrals, setting traces, and managing retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients, ensuring organizational goals are met.

Requirements

  • 6 or more years of progressive hotel Sales experience, typically with Hyatt.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Results-driven, energetic, and focused with a service-oriented style and professional presentation skills.
  • Ability to train and monitor contractual agreement processes, quoting rates, and managing accounts.

Nice to Have

  • Previous hotel pre-opening experience.
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree.
  • Experience with high volume concepts.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and motivational leadership qualities.

Qualifications

  • Hotel/Hospitality degree (asset).

Benefits & Perks

  • Offer amount will depend on experience.
  • Budget compensation range: $152,000 - $196,800.
