About the Role

Hilton San Jose is seeking a passionate Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the hotel's commercial strategies and drive profitable growth. The role involves overseeing sales, revenue, marketing, catering, and events management functions within Hilton's Commercial Services organization, contributing to the hotel's performance and aligning with Hilton's global standards and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy impactful business strategies for the Americas region.
  • Lead the Hotel Sales and Marketing process, including moving analytics and processes to a predictive and prescriptive approach.
  • Develop and communicate commercial strategies and standards through a structured cadence and analyze revenue performance against goals.
  • Facilitate the delivery of the Americas Commercial Operating Model and possess strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Produce the hotel's Annual Multi-Year Commercial Strategy Plan in partnership with on-property leaders and regional support.
  • Connect hotel performance needs with solutions designed by Hilton enterprise across key segments.
  • Set strategy and oversee the delivery of hotel revenues including group rooms, banquets, catering, business transient, and leisure transient.
  • Ensure pricing strategies, business mix, and revenue forecasts are optimized and aligned with market conditions.
  • Support hotel B2B marketing, digital marketing, social media, public relations, and communications activities.
  • Guide e-Commerce teams to ensure online hotel content is accurate and effective.
  • Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly Sales & Marketing Optimization Processes and translate outcomes into actionable strategies.
  • Manage departmental expense budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of market activity and competitor actions.
  • Lead recruitment, performance development, and retention of sales and marketing team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback for direct and dotted line reports.
  • Own performance reporting and communicate commercial activity status to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners including CVBs, community influencers, and third-party travel partners.
  • Support high-impact site visits, pre-convention meetings, and sales travel into feeder markets.

Requirements

  • Hotel Sales, Catering, or Marketing experience.
  • Leadership management experience.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Experience in hotel management or related industry.
  • Strong professional presentation and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform critical analysis.
  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Adaptable experience with business strategy, planning, and development.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages (preferred).
  • Multiple Brand experience (preferred).
