About the Role

The Director of Performance Content Strategy at Publicis Media Exchange (PMX) is responsible for guiding the Performance Content teams and implementing Performance Content solutions across Publicis media agencies. This role involves co-leading the development of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) services and strategy, with a focus on SEO, AI Search, and digital media. The position requires a passion for AI Search landscape, account management, and cross-team collaboration to enhance performance and strategic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the development, documentation, and strategic processes of Performance Content services, particularly SEO and AI Search, to improve operational efficiencies and strategic excellence.
  • Understands and explains the features and benefits of all Publicis performance products and services, supporting agency client counterparts with Performance Content products to elevate their performance engagements.
  • Evaluates agency client service delivery executions and supports the development of each agency's performance content offering.
  • Leads the development of learning and development programs for Performance Content solutions.
  • Supports Publicis client teams in altering approaches or piloting new ways of managing Performance Content solutions.
  • Creates and launches new service offerings or products, especially within AI search platforms and the evolving organic search landscape.
  • Leads connectivity of Performance Content talent across agency counterparts and fosters a culture of collaboration.
  • Communicates with client stakeholders up to C-level in status, reporting, and deliverable calls.
  • Leads SEO/AI Search organic strategy and deliverable execution as needed.
  • Manages PCOE direct reports on client delivery for SEO and AI Search.
  • Communicates client roadblocks and challenges effectively to leadership to resolve and mitigate risks.
  • Self-manages workload to deliver to clients in a timely manner.
  • Leads new business situations and client onboarding, and grows client investments through innovative project pitches.
  • Motivates, leads, and manages internal teams, fostering teamwork, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Conducts performance reviews and career development plans for team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, or advertising.
  • 7-10 years of account management experience in online advertising, direct marketing, or SEO, with client and agency experience preferred.
  • 4 years of demonstrated success in managing and leading people.
  • 5-7 years of SEO experience, including building and executing performance goaled SEO strategies.
  • Advanced and modern Content SEO experience.
  • Understanding of AI Algorithms and how website content, structure, and user experience impact brand performance.
  • Experience in AI Search Platforms, ideally having run AI Search strategies or tests.
  • Enthusiasm for developing innovative GEO strategies that evolve with the AI Search landscape.
  • Experience with SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Web Analytics Platforms, and Looker Studio for performance analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to adapt to new analysis tools easily.
  • Demonstrated understanding of online marketing principles.
  • High competency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks across stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in creating and launching new service offerings or products within AI search platforms.
  • Experience in managing and leading teams in a digital marketing or SEO environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, or advertising.
  • 7-10 years of account management experience in online advertising, direct marketing, or SEO.
  • 4 years of experience managing and leading teams.
  • 5-7 years of SEO experience with performance-driven strategies.
  • Experience with AI Search strategies and tools.
