About the Role

We are seeking a high-performing, strategic-thinking, creative and experienced Product Management Lead to join S&P Global Commodity Insights, working within the Research and Analytics business. This role involves managing a product portfolio focused on oil markets, developing digital products and data feeds, and working cross-functionally to deliver customer-centric solutions that inform strategic investments and operational decisions in the energy and commodities sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and the needs of prospective and current customers.
  • Interact with customers to understand client problems, solicit product feedback, and analyze how customers use S&P Global's and competitor products in their workflows.
  • Translate market knowledge, client interactions, and usage analysis into product roadmaps that address problems for identified market segments and personas.
  • Identify and define new product concepts, evaluate their commercial potential, and examine client value, strategic fit, and competitive environment.
  • Create and present robust business plans and advocate for resources.
  • Manage technology development by providing the business vision and direction to Agile development teams, writing user stories, and maintaining/prioritizing a product backlog based on business value and ROI.
  • Partner with marketing to develop and execute go-to-market plans for product rollouts and launches.
  • Support sales efforts by guiding target segments and personas and educating about product value propositions.
  • Analyze commercial and usage metrics to develop strategies for increasing client value realization and retention.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience with expertise in analytical content, data, and tools, preferably in the oil industry, data/analysis, B2B information, fintech, software, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of chemical, oil, gas, or related commodity industries, or the ability to quickly develop such understanding.
  • Experience in developing and launching new offerings and identifying growth opportunities for mature products.
  • Experience engaging with clients to understand industry workflows, unmet needs, and developing creative solutions.
  • Experience working with developers and practicing Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with APIs and enterprise data delivery is a plus.
  • Experience managing a team.
