Job Description

About the Role

Microsoft's Consumer Marketing Social team is redefining storytelling in the age of AI. We are seeking a highly organized, data-driven, and visionary social media leader who embodies innovation and a deep passion for brand storytelling. As Director, Social Channel & Creator Strategy, you will define the vision and lead the strategy for Microsoft's social presence and creator partnerships across platforms including LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Instagram, Snap, and YouTube. This is a unique opportunity to shape how Microsoft shows up in social channels and creator ecosystems for flagship products like Microsoft Copilot, Windows, Surface, Edge, and M365 at a global scale. You'll own the channel and creator strategy, driving the data and social intelligence agenda to set the roadmap for growth and optimize content for platform-native behaviors. Define channel-by-channel strategies and build systems to measure, analyze, and refine social and creator content. This role requires the ability to synthesize complex data, brand, and business objectives into social and creator guidelines that future-proof our success. As a senior strategic leader, you will partner closely with internal teams, agencies, and creators to deliver best-in-class social and creator playbooks that meet Microsoft's brand, accessibility, and legal standards. Lead high-impact analysis from research and information gathering to post-activation insights, manage complex workflows and a breadth of content, and champion excellence across every touchpoint. The ideal candidate combines insight development with strategic vision, thrives in fast-paced environments, and brings deep expertise in social platforms, social intelligence systems, creator economies, and emerging trends—and a passion for innovation and data-driven storytelling that elevates Microsoft's presence across social channels.

  • Perform competitive analysis and identify key areas for improvement.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop best practices for engaging content for organic and paid campaigns.
  • Provide strategic input and suggestions to improve Microsoft's online presence based on data.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media content performance trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Ensure all content aligns with Microsoft's brand voice, accessibility, and compliance standards.
  • Manage relationships with key social media platform partners to ensure Microsoft is first to adopt new technologies, formats, and best practices.
  • Represent Microsoft in beta programs and industry forums, advocating for our needs and learning from peers.
