About the Role

The Director of Social Media for the Sports & Lifestyle division at Authentic Brands Group is responsible for leading the social voice of iconic brands such as Reebok, Champion, Prince, and Nautica. The role involves building meaningful conversations, community, and brand presence across platforms by translating brand purpose into culturally relevant storytelling. The position requires developing innovative, platform-native strategies to inspire engagement, foster brand heat, and drive business growth, working closely with cross-functional teams to execute comprehensive campaigns that resonate in the social space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the end-to-end social strategy for multiple Sports & Lifestyle brands, including translating brand objectives into tailored, platform-specific plans.
  • Monitor industry trends, audience behavior, and competitive activity to inform social approaches and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Lead annual planning for social content, campaigns, and tentpole moments aligned with brand and marketing priorities.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure social effectiveness and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Oversee the development of content calendars across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube.
  • Partner with Creative teams to guide the development of visuals, copy, and storytelling aligned with social best practices.
  • Lead real-time activation and community engagement strategies during live events, product drops, or cultural moments.
  • Approve and review daily content to ensure tone, timing, and formatting are optimized per platform and brand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a similar field.
  • A minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in brand marketing and social media management, with sport/fashion brand marketing experience required.
  • Hands-on experience managing marketing in a brand licensing environment.
  • Proven track record in creating and executing 360-degree brand and marketing campaigns, including campaign design, public relations, and digital/social media marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in analyzing data to inform marketing planning and decision making.
  • Strong communication skills with in-room presentation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Keynote, Squarespace, Adobe Suite, and all social media platforms.
  • Ability to shoot and edit social content.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

  • Knowledge of industry trends and cultural moments relevant to sports and lifestyle brands.
