About the Role

The Director, Vx Data Product Management at Pfizer is a leadership role responsible for overseeing data management, governance, and analytics strategy within the US Vaccines business. The role involves driving data quality, advancing data and analytics capabilities, and collaborating with internal teams to develop and manage key data products that support Pfizer's vaccine commercial strategies. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and strategic leadership to propel Pfizer's vaccines data initiatives and foster innovation using AI and other advanced technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the U.S. Commercial Vx data asset ecosystem to ensure data operations are maintained with data quality, data integrity, and data availability supporting 500+ U.S. Vx commercial data users.
  • Maintain and proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing Vx specific foundational capabilities such as APS model, RSV split model, Public/Private split model, Central Purchasing model, and Manufacturer Loyalty model.
  • Enable U.S. Commercial Vx performance reporting and Sales Force Incentive Compensation programs using high quality Vx specific business data assets.
  • Own the U.S. Commercial Vx customer backbone or Business Account Construct (BAC) to ensure customer data is uniformly defined for consistency across the organization.
  • Partner closely with CMO IIS, CMO Data Science, Vx OE, and Digital teams to identify new Vx specific business data assets supporting strategic priorities.
  • Pioneer new capabilities using Gen AI and other AI advancements to enable rapid decision-making across the U.S. Commercial Vx business.

Requirements

  • BA required, MS preferred, in fields such as operations research, data science, statistics, or computer programming.
  • 8+ years of experience in data strategy, data management, or commercial analytics (7+ years if holding an MS degree), ideally in biopharma or healthcare.
  • 5+ years leading a team of data engineers and/or analytics professionals.
  • Deep understanding of key data types/sources used for vaccines commercial analytics.
  • Proven experience building analytic data engineering pipelines.
  • Proficient in data engineering code (SQL, Python, scripting, etc.), file storage (S3), cloud database technologies, and code management tools like GitHub.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Experience building scalable data product solutions across multiple brands and leveraging synergies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and data product management frameworks.
  • Experience working with third-party data vendors in staff augmentation or project-based models.
  • Gen AI (e.g., LLMs).

Qualifications

  • Educational background with a BA required, MS preferred, in relevant fields.
  • Experience in data strategy, management, and commercial analytics within biopharma or healthcare industries.
  • Proven leadership of data engineering or analytics teams for at least 5 years.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial secondary analytics and key data sources for vaccines.

  • Annual base salary ranging from $156,600 to $261,000.
  • Participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20% of base salary.
