About the Role

Join Amgen's mission of serving patients as a District Sales Manager in the Bone Health division for the New Orleans, LA district. Key Responsibilities

  • Track the progress of marketing messages and programs.
  • Provide feedback to district teams on marketing, resource allocation, and program effectiveness.
  • Manage district teams to maximize performance and achieve/exceed sales and budget targets.
  • Screen, interview, and hire candidates.
  • Ensure compliance with training requirements.
  • Demonstrate coaching and counseling to develop individuals for future roles.
  • Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews and competency assessments.
  • Communicate and coordinate with district and cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Finance, and other Business Units.
  • Share best practices with direct reports and peers.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in cluster teams.
  • Conduct district sales meetings to guide teams.
  • Develop local Opinion Leader relationships to achieve aligned objectives.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Sales/Marketing experience, or Master's degree and 6 years of Sales/Marketing experience, or Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Sales/Marketing experience, or Associate's degree and 10 years of Sales/Marketing experience, or High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
  • At least 2 years of managerial experience managing people, projects, or resources.

Nice to Have

  • Three or more years of specialty sales experience.
  • Experience in biologics.
  • Buy and bill model experience.
  • Ability to recognize and promote success behaviors and coach effectively.
  • Market and customer knowledge to target messages and resources.
  • Knowledge of local payor coverage.
  • Ability to understand and articulate clinical concepts and data.
  • Experience utilizing clinical information to address customer questions and objections.
  • Ability to recruit and hire capable sales representatives.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and self-discipline.
  • Experience in setting and communicating short and long-term objectives.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills with sales staff, peers, and business units.

Qualifications

  • Educational qualifications as specified in requirements (Doctorate, Master's, Bachelor's, Associate's, or High school diploma with relevant experience).
