About the Role

The Email Specialist plays a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic email marketing campaigns that enhance the digital experience for prospective students and parents, driving engagement and conversion in support of enrollment objectives. This position leverages marketing automation tools to personalize communications, optimize campaign performance, and foster a strong brand identity across all digital touchpoints. The ideal candidate is a creative and analytical professional with expertise in email marketing automation, data analysis, and content strategy. They should be adept at crafting compelling, personalized email content that resonates with diverse audiences, including prospective students and parents. The Email Specialist will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align email strategies with broader marketing goals, ensuring seamless integration with other channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement targeted email campaigns using marketing automation platforms, focusing on personalized experiences that support the student journey from awareness to enrollment
  • Use marketing automation tools to streamline workflows, optimize email sequences, and enhance campaign efficiency
  • Conduct A/B testing and analyze campaign metrics to inform future email strategies, ensuring data-driven decision-making
  • Develop engaging, benefit-driven email content that aligns with inbound marketing strategies, including buyer personas and customer journeys
  • Work closely with designers, writers, and other marketing team members to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all digital channels
  • Collaborate with the information systems team to maintain data integrity and ensure proper implementation of database fields, values, and parameters when building automations and dynamic content
  • Partner with admissions, student affairs, and other departments to align email strategies with institutional goals and initiatives
  • Regularly monitor email performance metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Apply segmentation strategies to deliver targeted, personalized content that resonates with diverse audiences
  • Develop email content and campaigns that foster positive interactions with prospective students and parents, enhancing their overall experience
  • Collect feedback from stakeholders to continually refine and improve email communications

Requirements

  • Proven experience in email marketing, marketing automation, and content strategy
  • Experience with database management concepts and data hygiene practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when working with data fields
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into effective marketing solutions
  • Excellent collaboration skills, especially when working with technical teams
  • Strong written communication and content development skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility when priorities shift
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Email marketing certifications (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pardot) or database-related certifications are a plus
