About the Role

We are Masterflex, part of Avantor Sciences. Our peristaltic pumps, tubing, sensors, and single-use components play a vital role in advancing drug discovery and development. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded software and firmware for Masterflex pumps and End-of-Line (EOL) test systems.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, following Agile practices: requirements, architecture, design, implementation, testing, and release.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code for our pump electromechanical systems.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure best practices for performance, safety, and maintainability are followed.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system-level issues and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to ensure product functionality and reliability.
  • Support risk analysis and contribute to regulatory documentation as needed.
  • Maintain version control using Git and adhere to structured software development processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded systems development.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following areas: Control Systems (e.g., PID, robotics), Signal Processing, Networking (TCP/IP).
  • Familiarity with serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, or I2C.
  • Willingness to learn new programming languages and technologies as needed.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree or 3+ years of industry experience in embedded software development.
  • Python or scripting experience for automation and testing.
  • Experience with automated test equipment or EOL testers.
  • Exposure to RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems) and/or Embedded Linux.
  • Experience with PLC systems or industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP or PROFINET.

  • Educational background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
