About the Role

If you are an Embedded Software Engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, and is looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Shakopee, Minnesota location, you will create embedded software for the products in the Liquid Analysis group as part of the Measurement Solutions organization, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of process analytical equipment for liquid analysis, combustion analysis, and gas analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Designing, developing, testing and debugging embedded system software
Performing reviews throughout the SDLC including requirements, designs and code
Providing postproduction and legacy code support
Provide process improvements and recommendations
Participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from requirements definition through post-release activities
Work with cross-functional global teams including Software Development, Hardware Development, and System Architecture

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science from an engineering school
Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Nice to Have

Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering
An ABET accredited engineering degree is preferred
Good communication skills and the ability to participate as a member of a team
Experience with C/C++ Programming languages
Experience with related technologies and processes (SDLC, Agile/Scrum, Object-Oriented Design, UML, real-time operating systems, microcontrollers, serial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, I2C, SPI)
Prior internship or co-op experience a plus

Qualifications

Educational background as specified in requirements
Experience with C/C++ programming languages
Knowledge of serial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, I2C, SPI
