Enterprise Data BI Developer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Support the organization's ability to make informed business decisions by developing and maintaining complex semantic models, creating advanced DAX calculations, and collaborating with end users to deploy optimized analytics solutions.
• Build a bridge between raw data and business requirements by developing insightful and interactive tools and visualizations.
• Use business intelligence and visualization software (such as PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.) to empower non-technical internal customers to drive their own analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, project managers, and other IT professionals to understand business needs, translate them into technical solutions, execute technical builds, and provide ongoing support for BI tools and platforms.
• Provide training and support to end-users on how to effectively use tools provided to them.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and security within analytics solutions developed.
• Identify and resolve issues related to data connectivity, data models, and visualizations.
• Optimize the structure and performance of data models and reporting systems, and proactively fix issues as identified.
• Analyze data sets to identify trends and patterns that can improve business performance.
• Design, implement, and develop solutions for critical BI use cases.
• Keep up to date with the latest platforms, skills, features, and best practices in the business intelligence industry.
• Communicate insights and recommendations to internal IT leadership through demonstrations, presentations, and reports.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience with analytics systems and processes within a manufacturing company.
• Willingness to occasionally travel to Aspen's operational locations to engage with business stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends and patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Experience with business intelligence technical skills such as SQL, Python, DAX, ETL processes, data warehousing, data modeling, data analytics, and data visualization.
• Expertise leveraging Microsoft tools (Fabric, Synapse, Power BI, Power Query) preferred.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Intelligent User Interfaces (IUI) is highly valuable.
• Strong organizational skills, including self-direction, prioritization, and multi-tasking.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including influencing and motivating employees at all levels.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Python or R.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and IUI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Information Systems.
