About the Role

The ESPN Social Media Intern, Remote, Fall 2025 role offers an opportunity to work for a leading sports entertainment brand that emphasizes innovation, creativity, and fan engagement. Interns will assist with social media coverage across multiple platforms, learning the strategy behind posting and content creation while collaborating with a dynamic team. The internship runs from September 22nd through December 12th, 2025, and provides a chance to gain experience in sports media, journalism standards, and digital content production in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ideating and optimizing posts for Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, X, and Facebook.
  • Discovering trending/viral content (often user-generated) and clearing for posting.
  • Clipping and editing short video moments and using Photoshop to create graphics for posting across various social media platforms.
  • Learning to apply news judgment and journalistic standards to the most important stories of the day.
  • Assisting with compiling social analytics recaps and reports.
  • Researching new trends and applications of social media to enhance ESPN's channels.

Requirements

  • Elite knowledge of social media, including expertise on Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, X, and Facebook.
  • Strong writing and copyediting skills, along with creative thinking and solid news judgment.
  • Elite knowledge of all sports, including current athletes, rules, and events.
  • Familiarity with ESPN shows, talent, and digital products.
  • Experience with video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Avid, or After Effects) and photo editing software (Photoshop).
  • Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, or participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Unrestricted work authorization.
  • Ability to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.

Nice to Have

  • Historical knowledge of sports.
  • Familiarity with the sports media landscape, including knowledge of business trends and technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional role, organization, or activity.

Qualifications

  • Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Sports Media, Communications, or related major (preferred).
