Freelance Digital Insights Analyst

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze data availability and surface data sets understanding the underlying implementation.
• Develop analyses that surface trends and performance gaps for Fox News & Fox Business digital businesses.
• Identify cohorts and trends for user engagement across platforms, devices, topics, etc.
• Analyze productivity analytics to uncover opportunities and areas to streamline.
• Use data modeling techniques and tools to analyze large databases and complex data sets to derive insights and predictive analytics.
• Understand data governance and implement best practices in data management to ensure data integrity.
• Work closely with the database engineering team to enhance data collection and identify new data sets for future reporting.
• Assist staff with database queries, statistical analysis, and streamline data reporting practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or Computer Science.
• 1-5 years' experience in digital analytics, preferably in a fast-paced media or entertainment environment.
• Experience with advanced and predictive analytics in a digital environment is desired.
• Advanced knowledge of database applications / management, SQL and/or SAS.
• Great communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Effective interpersonal skills to work across multiple groups and levels in the organization.
• Strong team player with a positive, energetic attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel functions, formulas, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables.
• Experience translating 1st & 3rd party data such as Nielsen, ComScore, Adobe Analytics, Optimizely, social analytics.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker and Tableau.
