About the Role

Sofar Sounds is a global community that connects artists and audiences through unique and intimate experiences. The role of a Freelance Producer in Miami involves curating, producing, and promoting live events to build a vibrant local Sofar community, acting as a brand ambassador, and executing local marketing and partnership initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strengthen Sofar's brand in the local community by promoting and selling tickets with self-directed marketing tactics.
Create and execute a vision for the city's strategy, including the number of monthly shows, neighborhoods, and themes.
Lead curation and booking of artists and venues to ensure high-quality, diverse experiences.
Manage staffing and quality of shows to ensure magical, hospitality-rooted experiences.
Oversee the financial performance of events to ensure their financial success and health.
Build relationships with local businesses to drive sponsorship and private event sales.
Identify and develop relationships with local organizations to build community, broaden reach, and co-promote shows.
Collaborate with local leaders to grow the city’s events and amplify Sofar’s brand awareness.
Support Sofar’s Business Partnerships and Global Communities teams by ensuring high-quality curation and seamless event operations for inbound partnership opportunities.

Requirements

Deep connections to the local scene and active role in community building.
3-5 years of experience in live event curation, production, and promotions.
Experience selling event sponsorships or marketing activations, preferably in live events or experiential marketing.
Confidence in pitching ideas and event concepts to sponsors, with a track record of closing partnership deals.
Strong knowledge of the city, neighborhoods, and popular venues.
Ability to build relationships with community organizations, media partners, and local businesses.
Understanding of how to promote and build strategic alliances to increase ticket sales.
Professionalism and ownership in work, ensuring positive experiences for artists, venues, partners, and guests.
Exceptional time management skills and clear communication abilities.
Ability to work autonomously while remaining connected to the broader organization.

Nice to Have

Experience in experiential marketing or related fields.
Existing network of local contacts and community organizations.

Qualifications

Mid-level experience with at least 3 years in event marketing or related fields.
