About the Role
HRUCKUS, a Veteran-Owned management consulting firm led by Stephen Hrutka in Washington, DC, specializes in Technical and Cleared Recruiting for the Department of Defense (DoD), the Intelligence Community (IC), and other advanced defense agencies. They support Veteran-Owned businesses by recruiting for positions across organizations such as the VA, SBA, HHS, DARPA, and other leading-edge R&D-focused defense agencies. The company is seeking a Full-Stack Java Engineer with TS/SCI FSP for an onsite role supporting high-impact, mission-focused programs in Northern Virginia, specifically in Herndon, Reston, and Chantilly, VA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based back-end services
- Build and enhance responsive front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks
- Create and consume RESTful APIs, write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architecture discussions
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely solutions
Requirements
- Proficiency in Java (8 or higher), Spring Boot, REST APIs
- Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js)
- Strong understanding of HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools
- Experience in secure or mission environments
Nice to Have
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
- Docker, Kubernetes
- Cloud services (AWS GovCloud preferred)
- Elasticsearch, Kafka, or NiFi
- Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)
- Experience with microservices architecture
Qualifications
- 8+ years of Full-Stack Java Engineering experience
- TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph clearance
