About the Role

Rotary and Mission Systems' Training Logistics and Simulation (TLS) business is Lockheed Martin's center of excellence for training and logistics products and services, serving the U.S. military and more than 65 international customers around the world. Based in Orlando, TLS develops programs that teach service men and women skills to accomplish their most challenging missions - flying the world's most advanced fighter aircraft, navigating ships and driving armored vehicles. TLS is the corporation's hub for simulation, X reality, live-virtual-constructive capabilities, advanced training devices and full-service training programs. TLS also provides sustainment services such as supply chain and logistics IT solutions, spares and repairs, as well as automated test and support equipment. This position is for a Full Stack Software Engineering Lead on F35 Pilot Training Devices (PTD) as part of the Operational Baseline Integrated Product Team (IPT).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage system integrity, availability, and cyber compliance of networked systems
  • Assist in the development of solutions across components of systems through design, integration, implementation, and support
  • Participate in phases of system, software, and hardware development, leveraging DevOps processes and procedures while performing engineering activities
  • Collaborate with other program personnel, participating in cross functional Agile teams
  • Participate in the closure of Software Pre-Release Bugs (PRBs)
  • Champion continuous improvement activities for the Software Engineering discipline and adopt 1LMX techniques and approaches
  • Utilize Agile processes and common technology stacks
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Exercise problem-solving skills, analyze complex issues, and develop creative solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, such as Math, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or other engineering disciplines
  • At least 4 years of experience working on a Software Program with heavy Hardware dependencies
  • Experience with GitLab, including version control, CI/CD, and issue tracking
  • Understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, testing, and continuous integration
  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain an Interim Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with software development utilizing Agile processes and common technology stacks
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience with DevOps tools, including Ansible and GitLab
  • Experience in technical project leadership
  • Proven experience implementing improvements across IPTs
  • Experience with proposals and writing/submitting Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation with proficiency with Ansible, GitLab, and Nexus
  • Experience writing Ansible Playbooks to manage configurations and baselines
  • Knowledge and experience with scripting including Windows (PowerShell)/Linux (Shell scripting)
