GenAI/ML Solutions Architect - SVP

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and stable AI/ML solutions using leading AI technology frameworks.
• Define the technical roadmap for improving the quality and performance in LLMs and generative models, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Align AI/ML use cases with business strategies and key performance indicators and other metrics.
• Define architecture blueprints, patterns, software designs, proof of concepts, and architecting solutions.
• Hands-on coding and working closely with software engineers to build new applications on AI/ML platforms.
• Monitor current and future trends and advancements in AI, machine learning, and other emerging technologies.
• Provide vision for relevant technology systems supporting enterprise risk management and compliance applications.
• Develop architecture, strategy, planning, and problem-solving solutions for Citi.
• Explore and prototype novel techniques in generative AI/ML including fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, transfer learning, and multimodal alignment.
• Interface across several channels, acting as a visionary to define future project directions.
• Depending on project scope, may be accountable for end-to-end results including budgeting, policy formulation, and future state technology strategies.
• Interface with vendors to assess their technology and guide their product roadmap based on Citi requirements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of senior technology leadership experience in engineering and/or architecture capacity.
• At least 5 years of experience in a Solutions Architecture role in a large enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience as a GenAI/ML Solutions Architect, particularly in banking, financial, or payment sectors with risk and control experience being a plus.
• Expertise in developing architecture vision and strategic solutions.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices such as version control, testing, and code reviews.
• Understanding of advanced calculations, statistical functions, SQL, relational databases, data modeling, and normalization.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks and natural language processing.
• Proficiency in generative AI and machine learning, including experience with LLMs, diffusion models, or other generative models for 15+ years with at least 2 years specifically in these models.
• Experience in model building, model parallelism, deployment of large-scale generative models, and techniques such as quantization, distillation, and efficient inference.
• Strong background in conducting experiments, analyzing results, and iterating on model improvements.
• Ability to work independently and with various teams.
• Strong communication skills.
• Educational background with a Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields, or comparable professional experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience in banking, financial, or payment industries, especially in risk and control.
• Experience with Gemini, R2D2, PaLM2 Embedding, PGVector, Python, Artifactory, GitHub, RAG systems, Java, Javascript.

Qualifications

• Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields, or comparable professional experience.
