Job Description

About the Role

The mission of the Media Partners team is to make YouTube the essential platform for viewing content from media partners by driving meaningful business and distribution. We are responsible for sourcing, negotiating and closing distribution agreements with media and entertainment companies for YouTube's subscription video businesses, as well as distributing Ad-supported content across YouTube's multiple formats and platforms to fuel those partners' core businesses. As Global Media Partnerships, Deals Manager, you will negotiate and manage agreements for partnerships with the top media companies, studios and entertainment/sports properties across YouTube TV, Primetime Channels and YouTube Main. The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners and supporting Google's Product teams with essential partnerships to enhance user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate partnerships for YouTube's AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, PPV, FAST and Pay TV services.
  • Contribute to a high performing team that drives the success of YouTube's Global Media partnerships, while supporting a culture that encourages creative thinking and risk taking.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with a broad range of constituents, particularly in product, finance, marketing, and legal, as well as with external partners.
  • Leverage industry experience to negotiate agreements in alignment with cross-functional priorities.
  • Understand industry trends and market insights to adjust to changing circumstances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in media industry agreement negotiation.
  • Experience working with executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Nice to Have

  • MBA or JD.
  • Experience negotiating distribution agreements for linear cable television, broadcast stations, direct-to-consumer offerings, and advertiser supported content.
  • Experience escalating and presenting key issues and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Experience with licensing content for distribution on streaming platforms.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, structure agreements, and work with legal teams to sign and manage agreements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to rigorously structure, analyze, and solve business problems, as well as deliver impact against concrete business goals.

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • US base salary range for this full-time position is $218,000-$306,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
