About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and coordinates the production of all CSG South print materials, including brochures, postcards, reports, research publications, logos, and promotional materials.
• Maintains brand standards and consistency for CSG South online, print, and website communications.
• Designs, develops, and applies strong visual aesthetic skills to create original artwork for online, print, and website platforms.
• Ensures publications and products are engaging, meet grammar and style standards, are high quality, and align with the Style Guide.
• Coordinates and communicates with the Marketing & Programs team to generate new design ideas, create graphics, and meet deadlines.
• Works within a fast-paced schedule of delivery deadlines and manages multiple projects from concept to completion.
• Designs different types of graphics such as infographics or illustrations as needed.
• Creates and follows the annual publications/communications deliverables calendar.
• Supports the design and production of the Southern Legislative Conference Annual Meeting materials, including brochures, program books, and collateral.
• Builds marketing assets for print and email campaigns in conjunction with the Programs and Marketing Director.
• Supports registration, policy, and program staff during the Annual Meeting on-site.
• Assists the Director of Marketing and Programs with tasks related to the Graphic Design Fellow (intern).

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Graphic Design, Illustration, or a similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2+ years' work experience including graphic design, website management, and content creation.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro.
• Experience working with Canva, Mailchimp, and CRM platforms preferred.
• Understanding of web-centric graphic design, usability, and typography issues.
• Extensive knowledge of writing guidelines established by the Associated Press.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites, SharePoint, and Teams platforms.
• Experience with web content management.
• Strong attention to detail and a good eye for color, fonts, and layout.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proven talent as a creative graphic designer with a portfolio of print and digital work; video work is a plus.
• Ability to travel as needed for duties and responsibilities.

• Experience with web content management systems.
• Video production skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or similar field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience.
