About the Role

The Catering Sales Manager at Hayes Mansion San Jose, Curio Collection, is responsible for achieving catering and banquet sales goals tied to the hotel's overall performance. The role involves soliciting and securing new accounts, servicing existing clients and groups, and working closely with the Director of Sales or Director of Catering to meet revenue and market share objectives. The position requires a focus on various market segments such as Social, Corporate, Business, and SMERF, depending on the property assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals, as well as solicitation call goals.
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Social, Corporate, Business, or SMERF segments.
  • Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts related to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, and/or Groups.
  • Monitor and evaluate trends within the market segment.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality's regulations, standards, and sales metrics.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of hotel operations and policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate generation of the Daily Event List, Banquet Event Order/Guarantee Sheet, and Ten Day Event Schedule.
  • Maintain visibility in the local community and industry organizations.
  • Assist in implementing or participating in special promotions such as sales blitzes.
  • Attend meetings and perform duties as requested by management.
  • Access and manage back of house areas and sensitive information responsibly.
  • Drive safely on behalf of the company.
  • Represent the company with good character and sound judgment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous Catering Sales experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiation and influence.
  • Experience with professional selling skills such as opening, probing, supporting, and closing sales.
  • Proficiency in general computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with strong organization and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrate creativity and knowledge of food and beverage.
