Intern: AI Engineer (Fall 2025)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze large datasets within the PIM system to identify patterns and trends that can inform the AI model's training process.
• Collaborate with the data science team to develop and train machine learning models that generate marketable part descriptions and accurately categorize parts based on existing data.
• Conduct rigorous testing of the AI model to ensure its accuracy and effectiveness in suggesting part descriptions and classifications, making necessary adjustments.
• Maintain detailed documentation of the training process, model performance, and modifications made to the AI algorithms.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and marketing, to understand requirements and ensure the AI model aligns with business needs.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in AI and machine learning, and contribute ideas for enhancing the model's capabilities and performance.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of AI tools.
• Experience with multiple programming languages and understanding of the value of documentation.
• Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Data Science at an accredited school.
• Completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
• Must be of good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
• Availability from August 2025 to December 2025, working up to 30 hours per week.
• Ability to organize thoughts concisely and pay attention to details.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A patient, understanding, and empathetic personality.
• Interest in learning and educating others.
• Ownership of issues and proactive attitude.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Machine Learning.
• Knowledge of AI Frameworks.
• Familiarity with Deep Learning and Neural Networks.
• Programming Languages such as Java, Python, etc.
• Skills in Data Analytics and Visualization.
• Experience in Data Engineering.

Qualifications
