About the Role

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking Interns in its Digital Productions and Social Media program area to provide assistance in strengthening the region's engagement in air quality and transportation projects and policies. The organization is an award-winning, regional planning agency serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area, emphasizing innovation, public service, and regional development. The internship offers opportunities to work on video/photo assets, social media content, and community engagement efforts, with a focus on supporting transportation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with camera setup, takedown, and equipment maintenance
Assisting with scheduling photo and video shoots
Taking internal and external photographs
Making minor edits to photographs in collaboration with the supervisor
Assisting with video production for Transportation Department social media channels and websites
Drafting social media messages to promote digital content for supervisor review
Developing storyboards for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
Collecting social media analytics and producing reports for supervisor review
Developing visualizations, animations, and communication designs for transportation programs and projects
Assisting with data entry and database maintenance
Gathering and organizing materials for community events
Representing NCTCOG’s goals and mission at community events

Requirements

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere
Good verbal and written communication skills
Interpersonal skills with ability to listen, follow instructions, and coordinate with team members
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and creative
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to work independently and in a team
Must be attending an accredited college or university in a degree-seeking program during employment

Nice to Have

Experience with video/photo editing and production
Experience developing storyboards or visual content for social media
Knowledge of social media analytics tools
