Social Media Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Creates, schedules, and publishes engaging content across all social media channels for five grocery banners to help enhance the customer shopping experience.
• Monitors content calendars and ensures timely execution of campaigns and promotions.
• Collaborates with internal teams including Marketing, Category Management, Digital, and eCommerce to align social content with business initiatives and promotions.
• Coordinates and organizes online events with a focus on effective social media integration and promotion.
• Builds and strengthens online communities by actively managing and interacting with social networks to maintain engagement and encourage daily participation.
• Monitors customer interactions, ensuring timely, professional, and brand-aligned responses on various social media outlets regarding information about products, programs, and brands.
• Assists in determining social media/marketing budgeting needs, spends, and tracks against forecast.
• Analyzes platform metrics and provides regular reports on performance, engagement, and growth opportunities.
• Produces visual content such as photographs, graphics, and videos, collaborating with creative teams to support broader content initiatives.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of social media best practices, tools, and industry trends to enhance strategy and performance.

Requirements

• Intermediate knowledge of social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Loomly, Meta Business Suite).
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Intermediate knowledge of HTML and content management systems.
• Ability to write with clarity and precision, demonstrating strong command of English grammar.
• Ability to craft engaging and brand-aligned content through copywriting, editing, and visual storytelling.
• Experience with customer engagement and community management.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field and three or more years of related experience, or equivalent experience managing social media for a brand or agency.
• Ability to occasionally travel to off-site locations with possible overnight stays.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in digital space, social networking, and social marketing tools and trends.
• Experience collaborating with graphic designers, videographers, and creative teams.
• Knowledge of current technologies and platforms related to social media.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Three or more years of related experience managing social media for a brand or agency.
