About the Role

We have an immediate opening at the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) for a Data Architect and Data Modeler. ETF is a state agency that is recognized as a leader in providing public employee benefit systems. This position provides leadership in data architecture and modeling with a strong focus on understanding business needs and ensuring data solutions support agency priorities across a multi-year, multi-phase modernization effort and other mission-critical initiatives. The modernization effort includes a “best of breed” implementation with different vendor solutions including enterprise content management (ECM), health insurance, pension, and other benefits systems. It is essential for an enterprise data architect/modeler to have both a business and technical focus because their role serves as a critical bridge between organizational goals and the systems that support them.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership in data architecture and modeling to support agency modernization efforts and mission-critical initiatives.
Understand business needs and ensure data solutions align with organizational priorities.
Design scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures that integrate with complex IT ecosystems.
Translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
Ensure data quality and consistency across systems.
Support decision-making and drive value across departments through effective data strategies.

Requirements

Experience with data architecture and modeling, particularly using Erwin Data Modelling Tool.
Strong understanding of business needs and technical design of data solutions.
Ability to serve as a bridge between organizational goals and IT systems.
Experience with enterprise content management, health insurance, pension, or benefits systems is a plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of data quality, security, and integration best practices.

Nice to Have

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011.
Previous work on multi-year modernization projects.
Familiarity with enterprise content management (ECM) systems.

Qualifications

Experience in data architecture and modeling.
Proficiency with Erwin Data Modelling Tool.
Strong technical and business understanding related to data solutions.
