Job Description

About the Role

SAIC is looking for an Information Technology Project Manager to join our team supporting an important US government agency in the National Capital Region. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that engineers and implements upgrades and modernization of critical IT systems and applications. This role requires on-site work in Washington, D.C. 3 days per week. The project manager will lead and manage various IT infrastructure projects including migrations, upgrades, and modernization efforts, providing leadership to cross-functional teams and ensuring project scope, schedule, and quality are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects such as Azure migrations, operating system upgrades, database and middleware upgrades, ZTA implementation, NetBackup modernization, mobile device refresh, and resiliency implementation.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams including systems engineers, test engineers, systems administrators, database administrators, and federal project sponsors.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and quality performance of IT project teams.
  • Conduct Agile ceremonies and manage project scope within Agile frameworks.
  • Coordinate stakeholder participation and assess and mitigate project risks.
  • Report progress against project plans and deliver executive presentations.
  • Collect lessons learned and implement improvements throughout project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of project management experience in a technical environment with various IT systems.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and agile software tools.
  • Knowledge of current information technology systems, software application development, IT infrastructure, and technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with a large community of stakeholders.
  • Leadership skills to successfully manage diverse teams.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure, SDLC, and cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps software for project management.
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure projects through an Agile methodology.
  • Working knowledge of network technologies, Active Directory, Windows Server OS, and cloud applications such as Office365.
