Journeyman Software Developer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Use deep understanding of core AWS services, such as compute and storage, to develop and deploy core services like Lambda and EC2s.
• Create and document new and existing functionality within software version control repositories (gitlab).
• Utilize DevOps principles and tools to deliver new features within an Agile framework, including participating in standups, planning, and increment planning.
• Support innovation and enhancement of custom applications through iteration and functionality testing using Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence).
• Use cloud computing expertise to provide system administration and modify existing GOTS code to integrate open-source software solutions for display in web applications.
• Develop APIs and perform database integration for interaction with Redux and React frameworks, using open-source packages for visualization and data filtering.
• Apply best practices in unit and build testing, and collaborate with team members to assess tickets ensuring proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria.

Requirements

• BS degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance prior to start, with willingness to obtain a Polygraph.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with REACT or a modern JavaScript framework.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Python and C# development frameworks.
• At least 3 years of experience with unit testing, continuous integration tools, and Gitlab version control.
• Experience in software development or integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services) or virtualization environment.
• Proactive attitude with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills to plan and prioritize work, with good attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• AWS Developer Solutions Mindset.
• At least 3 years of experience with Linux and/or Windows system administration.
• At least 2 years of experience with DoD Aeronautical Datasets.
• At least 1 year of experience with AWS CloudFormation templates.
• At least 1 year of experience with Node, NPM, Swashbuckle, REST API, Sass.
• AWS Solutions, Developer, or DevOps certification.
• Experience with team collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• DOD 8570 Compliant Certification (Sec+).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
