About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on VP level Lead Data Scientist to join our Strategy, Digital and Innovation team. In this role, you will lead a small team of data scientists and analytic consultants, working closely with business stakeholders to deliver advanced analytic models and forecasting solutions that drive financial strategy and operational efficiency. You'll play a critical role in shaping how data science informs Treasury operations, liquidity planning, risk management, and financial forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex initiatives and deliverables by utilizing data driven solutions, advanced analytics models, statistical technique and algorithms.
  • Partner and consult with business leaders to understand strategic goals and translate them into data science initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide a small team of data scientists and analytic consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Develop and maintain robust forecasting models using time series analysis, regression, and machine learning techniques.
  • Ensure data quality, model accuracy, and reproducibility through rigorous validation and documentation.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to ensure scalable and secure deployment of analytics solutions.
  • Enforce and establish best practices related to data quality and governance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 5+ years of hands-on programming using SQL.
  • 5+ years of Python experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
  • Must have completed a Master's degree level or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, Business Analytics, or computer science.

Nice to Have

  • Strong understanding of banking products and services, including Treasury/Transaction Services.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Exposure to MLOps practices and model deployment pipelines.
