About the Role

This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered. A Scrum Master is the servant leader of a scrum team, guiding the team in Agile/Scrum practices, facilitating ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering continuous improvement. The role involves supporting a self-organizing team within an organization that uses Agile and SAFe methodologies, with a focus on team maturity and organizational process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Scrum Master guides a scrum team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices, perform the role of a Release Train Engineer (RTE), and how to get the most out of self-organization.
  • Conduct Scrum of Scrum ceremonies, assess the maturity of the scrum team, and support their development to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace.
  • Remove impediments and guide the team on how to remove impediments, facilitating and leading Agile ceremonies such as Daily Standup, Demonstration, Story Point Estimation, Retrospective, Iteration Planning, and Backlog Grooming.
  • Collaborate with team members without acting as a manager, lead developer, Project Manager, or Product Owner.
  • Shield the team from outside influences to remove impediments to productivity.
  • Empower teams, facilitate creativity, guard quality, monitor iteration progress, and represent the team to management.
  • Disseminate information including metrics and charts, and work with other Scrum Masters to improve organizational processes.
  • Build and maintain a trusting and safe environment where problems and issues can be raised without fear of blame or retribution.
  • Protect the team from external distractions, allowing focus on committed work.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 5-7 years of experience in Scrum Master roles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, JIRA, Agile, and SAFe Agile methodologies.
  • Mandatory experience handling Scrum teams and conducting Scrum ceremonies.
  • Familiarity with LeanKit and Azure DevOps (ADO) is desired but not mandatory.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with LeanKit and ADO (Azure DevOps).

Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Agile, SAFe Agile methodologies
  • Handling Scrum teams and conducting Scrum ceremonies
