About the Role

Emerson is the world's leading automation supplier. Emerson's Analytical Instruments organization, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of process analytical equipment for liquid analysis, combustion analysis, and flame and gas detection, has an exciting career opportunity as a Lead Senior Embedded Software Engineer based at our Shakopee, MN location. This position will be responsible for new product development and sustaining engineering support in the Liquid Analysis engineering and development group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defining project-specific software development processes
  • Managing software requirements activities, including elicitation, analysis, and documentation
  • Performing Object-Oriented Design and coding of real-time embedded software
  • Creating and executing unit and integration tests
  • Debugging Software and Hardware/Software integration issues
  • Being a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Participating in peer reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science from an engineering school required
  • Minimum of six (6) years of applicable experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position

Nice to Have

  • An ABET-accredited engineering degree is preferred
  • Experience with real-time multi-threaded embedded systems, microcontrollers
  • Experience with Object-Oriented design and UML
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly language programming
  • Knowledge of serial protocol interfaces: CAN, SPI, SCI, IIC

Qualifications

  • Educational background in engineering or science
  • Applicable professional experience in embedded systems and software development
