Lead Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Prototype AI-enhanced features rapidly, iterating in weeks not months, while ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with your team to design and build practical and extensible software solutions for future investment and growth.
• Leverage a range of tools and programming languages (Java, Typescript, Python) to deliver key software and service initiatives.
• Engage in software development and planning activities such as developing user stories, estimating effort, writing specifications, validating technical systems, considering security implications, and developing buy-in for significant technical efforts.
• Develop software with well thought out testing plans and an understanding of business requirements.
• Support configuration management of code and software.
• Provide technical leadership to build, motivate, guide, scale, and mentor team members including performance management coaching.
• Participate in coding exercises and peer code reviews as part of the development lifecycle and change management.
• Manage the software lifecycle, security patching, and production support with a focus on monitoring AI integrations for quality and correctness.

Requirements

• Extensive full stack engineering experience, with an emphasis on back-end development, ideally a minimum of 5+ years.
• 1-2 years of experience applying AI or ML to software systems, such as integrating AI services, automating workflows, or developing code insights.
• Experience with public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP), modern deployment approaches, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with setting up Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines using tools like GitHub Enterprise, Spinnaker, and Azure DevOps.
• Growth mindset; thrives in ambiguous situations and adapts to new technologies and approaches.
• Ability to present complex solutions persuasively to peers and managers to gain buy-in.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI/ML integration in software systems.
• Experience with cloud deployment and container orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices in software development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of full stack engineering experience, with emphasis on back-end development.
• 1-2 years of experience applying AI or ML to software systems.
