Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the designers in creating designs and providing graphic services for materials developed in the Advertising Department, including digital and print advertising, social media graphics, and video editing.
  • Supervise Assistant Manager Advertising Design, Senior Graphic Artists, and Graphic Artist.
  • Take the lead on large-scale projects such as CENTER magazine, Annual Report, Special Events, and Development.
  • Create designs on computer for ads, direct mail, social media graphics, video editing, digital signage, collateral, and other materials as assigned.
  • Specify printing instructions, review bluelines and other printer's proofs.
  • Coordinate and ensure the completion of work according to deadlines and priorities set by the Advertising Services Manager and the Assistant Manager, Advertising Production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in graphic/commercial art.
  • At least eight years of related professional experience including supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in desktop publishing software (Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) in a PC environment.
  • Proficient in layout and design and computer-generated artwork production.
  • Working knowledge of four-color printing process.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments under tight deadlines, be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, evaluating, and managing a design team.
  • Must provide a portfolio demonstrating ability and experience.
  • Candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the DMV area.
  • Candidate must be willing to work onsite.

Nice to Have

  • Experience specifying printing instructions and reviewing printer's proofs.
  • Ability to follow creative direction and take instructions for edits and changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field
  • 8 years of professional experience including supervisory experience
