About the Role

The Manager - Digital Product Management (Business Checking) at American Express is responsible for driving the roadmap and strategy for money movement features and products within the Business Checking team. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create compelling customer experiences, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting small and mid-sized business needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Contact clients with overdue accounts to secure settlement and perform preventive work to avoid future overdues with high exposure accounts.
  • Define, communicate, and execute the strategy and roadmap of money movement features and products to support Business Checking product goals.
  • Create a compelling customer experience and value proposition for money movement to drive loyalty and engagement.
  • Define customer needs, metrics, controls, monitoring, key risk indicators, and key performance indicators to track the success of launched features.
  • Partner with Design, Product Development, and Engineering teams to evolve payment and banking capabilities addressing small and mid-sized business needs.
  • Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure adherence to product controls and monitoring.
  • Work with key stakeholders and cross-functional partners across the organization including Product Development, Technology, Financial Partners, Marketing, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to deliver the product to market.
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Relevant product experience in a fintech or consumer/small business/commercial bank, preferably managing payment processing and/or payments products.
  • Experience executing strategies to maximize user engagement and acting as a liaison between business and tech teams to define, prioritize, and deliver projects.
  • Strategic thought leadership and strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide insight and accurate judgment in addressing and resolving complex business issues.
  • Excellent project management, organization, and prioritization skills with a proven ability to manage cross-functional, large/complex initiatives.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent work experience in product.

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing payment processing and/or payments products in a fintech or banking environment.
  • Experience working with regulatory compliance in financial services.
  • Strong collaboration skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
