Job Description

About the Role

The Manager of SEO Strategy is responsible for developing, implementing, and scaling a best-in-class organic search strategy for a leading global travel brand. This role will drive organic visibility across traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms, leading technical SEO, content optimization, and site architecture improvements to maximize organic traffic, rankings, and discoverability across multiple languages and global site versions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive SEO strategy, including technical SEO, content optimization, and structured data implementation.
  • Conduct regular technical SEO audits, identifying and resolving site health issues such as crawl errors, page speed, duplicate content, and schema markup.
  • Manage site architecture, sitemaps, robots.txt, redirects, and canonicalization to ensure optimal indexing and crawlability.
  • Partner with content and UX teams to create and optimize landing pages based on keyword research, competitive analysis, and user intent.
  • Guide internal teams on SEO best practices across all digital content (web, blog, social, video).
  • Oversee multilingual SEO strategies to support international markets.
  • Monitor and manage brand inclusion in AI-driven search tools such as ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews, Bing Copilot, and similar platforms.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting for visibility, accuracy, and referral traffic from AI-driven search results.
  • Develop strategies to optimize brand representation within AI responses and voice search platforms.
  • Partner with analytics teams to define and track key SEO performance metrics.
  • Provide executive reporting on organic visibility, AI search inclusion, keyword rankings, traffic performance, and ROI impact.
  • Supervise SEO specialist and external agency partners to execute tactical SEO initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with brand, product, design, technology, and analytics teams to integrate SEO requirements.
  • Act as an internal evangelist for SEO and AI search discoverability, influencing leadership on emerging opportunities.
  • Stay current with industry trends, Google algorithm updates, AI search developments, and best practices.
  • Test and evaluate new SEO tools, platforms, and approaches to ensure the brand maintains a competitive edge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Web Development, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an SEO-focused role in an e-commerce environment.
  • Travel/hospitality industry or travel agency experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the tourism/travel/cruise industry.
  • Sound knowledge of marketing fundamentals and decision-making skills for content placement and product merchandising.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to create clear web content.
  • Interpersonal and business skills to interact effectively with all team levels.
  • Highly detail-oriented with organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to persuade and convince others.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments under pressure with minimal error.
