About the Role

We are looking to expand our Leadership team within our greater Infrastructure organization. The role involves shaping the future of Figma's file management capabilities, ensuring systems are secure, efficient, and scalable. It impacts both internal processes and the experience of millions of users worldwide, requiring close collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams to integrate new features and optimize existing systems. The position offers opportunities to address challenges such as expanding data locality, implementing enterprise-grade encryption solutions, and enhancing content management systems, all vital to Figma's growth and success in the competitive design software landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, support and develop a team of engineers, including staff level engineers, who design and build scalable services to power Figma's infrastructure
Drive the execution of strategic initiatives, enhancing Figma's core infrastructure supporting Files and associated media
Partner with product and engineering leadership to set strategy, priorities, and mission for teams and projects
Establish trust within and across teams by creating accountability and a positive work environment in partnership with other leaders in the organization
Grow your career in an engaged and creative engineering community
Contribute to building and driving inclusive and diverse team culture through hiring, community events, and other programs in partnership with teams across Figma

Requirements

3+ years of experience managing and leading high output engineering teams
Experience working on internal product infrastructure teams with many internal customers
Experience growing and extending internal platforms, with an emphasis on customer experience and developer velocity
Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team
Proven track record of motivating, mentoring, and guiding senior engineers
Experience understanding the needs of internal client teams and aligning roadmaps to drive business impact

Nice to Have

Experience with internal tools and systems focused on developer productivity
Experience in scaling infrastructure and improving internal workflows
