Marketing and Communications Associate

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Generate, edit, publish, and manage engaging social media content including original text, photos, and videos.
• Stay current with social media trends, design tools, and applications, and incorporate them strategically.
• Maintain and organize Bear Creek's YouTube channel, including adding videos and managing content from other departments.
• Monitor communications from teachers and divisions to provide photography and videography for events and stories.
• Take high-quality photos of school events and activities for marketing collateral and social media use.
• Assist with editing and proofing school emails, blog posts, and other communications.
• Help update digital displays and assist with designing posters, programs, and other in-house materials.
• Monitor and update review sites and peer listings.
• Assist webmaster with basic website content updates.
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit or independent schools preferred.
• Excellent writing skills for print and online mediums.
• Strong photography skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends for events or social media monitoring.
• Hold or obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
• Effective management of social media platforms and related tools.
• Ability to learn and work with the school's data-based software as needed.
• Strong communication skills, initiative, and ability to work independently and cooperatively.

• Experience in nonprofit or independent schools.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in related field (preferred).
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
