About the Role

The Marketing Director is responsible for all activities related to developing and implementing marketing and brand strategy to achieve marketing goals. This role involves supporting growth, acquisition, retention, and brand equity through business and market development, market research and planning, promotion and advertising strategy through on and off-line platforms, coordination with sales, and managing consulting agencies and third-party vendors. The position reports to the EVP and requires managing integrated, multi-channel marketing initiatives to elevate the corporate and property brand, drive growth, and increase community presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, roadmap, and implement short and long-term marketing strategy leveraging integrated, multi-channel web, social, print, and direct marketing initiatives to elevate the corporate and property brand, drive growth, and increase community presence.
  • Plan, execute, optimize, and manage integrated initiatives alongside onsite teams and management to drive acquisition, conversion, retention, and engagement through surveys, testimonials, programs, and other efforts.
  • Manage, design, develop, and distribute marketing materials and assets.
  • Strategically analyze and audit marketing channels to prioritize efforts and resources.
  • Maintain insight into market data and research to guide strategy and insight into the development or sale of assets.
  • Develop and manage key collateral including brochures, website, and social networking outreach to amplify company and key partner news.
  • Achieve financial objectives by maintaining an annual budget, analyzing variances, and strategically allocating capital.
  • Write, proofread, edit, and release internal and external communications, emails, and other published content to key stakeholders, investors, customers, and the media.
  • Create and manage marketing templates for new business development opportunities.
  • Represent the company via customer-relations efforts, conventions, meetings, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with third-party vendors including ILS, printers, agencies, etc.
  • Research and present new marketing ideas such as online reputation management and digital marketing strategies.
  • Monitor performance of digital marketing campaigns and discuss strategy with community managers, partners/owners, and the executive team.
  • Work with community managers, partners/owners, and the executive team to review marketing strategies for their sites and provide support.
  • Write budget recommendations for each property and review bids/proposals for agencies.
  • Update property websites and RentCafe as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Development Manager to ensure marketing and development items for new projects are on track.
  • Manage collateral, website, touchscreen, and branding processes with third-party agencies.

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S./M.S. in marketing or related field of study with 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Marketing experience in real estate or construction preferred.
  • Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Proficient copywriting, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to write clear, compelling, marketing-oriented communications through various media.
  • Experience demonstrating strategic thinking, analyzing data, evaluating competitors, and presenting recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with customer relationship management applications such as InDesign CC, Adobe Design Suite, Microsoft Office, and website editing applications.
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a professional attitude, appearance, and demeanor.

Nice to Have

  • Art, design or creative background; advertising agency experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in marketing or related field
  • 3+ years of marketing experience
  • Experience in real estate or construction industry preferred
