The position of Local Officer Marketing & Communications for North America focuses on events & fairs for the business stream Products, and is part of the regional M&C team for NAM/SAM, managed by the Senior Regional Manager M&C NAM/SAM, reporting to the global Marketing & Communications office in Cologne, Germany.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementing and following up on events and trade fair projects in line with quality, budget and time requirements.
  • Managing project management tasks including developing creative concepts, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Planning, management and controlling of projects, including managing time and budget plans, and maintaining communication with stakeholders.
  • Taking responsibility for and managing regional and local projects primarily in North America, and supporting other departments as needed.
  • Understanding internal customer needs, providing expert advice, and developing and maintaining internal customer relationships.
  • Developing clear and actionable recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Coordinating internal and external services and preparing briefings for external service providers for large events.
  • Creating and maintaining trade fair and event guidelines, developing best practices/tools, and sharing them with relevant teams.
  • Developing and presenting event/trade fair concepts (presence, hybrid, digital), and creating print and A/V content/assets with external or internal teams.
  • Managing and coordinating internal projects such as event equipment coordination.
  • Executing local marketing strategies aligned with global and regional strategies.
  • Managing local marketing activities including digital marketing, events, tradeshows, webinars, and campaigns.
  • Adapting global/regional content and creating assets relevant to customers at all touchpoints.
  • Liaising and coordinating with regional sales managers, local field managers, and country managers.
  • Setting up and executing campaigns, tracking leads using marketing automation tools.
  • Analyzing marketing activity performance and optimizing efforts.
  • Creating content and planning communication activities across platforms like Social Media, PR, YouTube, and publications.
  • Supporting local communication efforts and developing communication skills, aligning with regional strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' marketing experience, ideally B2B in a Group.
  • Excellent English skills (writing and speaking, C1), other languages an advantage.
  • Good knowledge and experience of inbound and performance marketing, SEM, SEO, and social media mechanisms.
  • Proven communication, project management, presentation, and self-motivation skills, with attention to detail and high quality awareness.
  • Ability to communicate and work comfortably with all organizational levels, with excellent people skills.
  • Strong experience with marketing automation tools such as Eloqua and Salesforce, as well as MS Office.
  • Above-average commitment, resilience, flexibility, and a hands-on mentality.
  • Business/customer-focused with the ability to translate business goals into marketing and communication strategies.
  • Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels, and to work well independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Solid knowledge of creative tools like Adobe.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in marketing, event/hospitality management, or a comparable field.
