Join Protolabs as a Marketing Events Specialist in a hybrid role based in Maple Plain, MN. Key Responsibilities

  • Make recommendations on the annual event strategy and budget, including third-party events, tradeshows, webinars, virtual events, and industry association events aligned with customer targets.
  • Collaborate with Demand Generation and Product Marketing teams to integrate events into overall demand generation strategies, including target audience, messaging, and sales follow-up.
  • Plan and execute tradeshow activities, including materials creation, messaging, vendor relations, travel arrangements, registration, scheduling, staffing, and logistics.
  • Work with Sales and Sales Enablement teams to prepare sellers for events and ensure effective follow-up with leads.
  • Ensure event leads are entered into CRM for tracking and follow-up.
  • Identify opportunities to showcase the brand through speaking sessions, working with product and sales teams on topics and presentations.
  • Manage webinar and virtual event strategies, including content creation, promotion, logistics, and post-event follow-up.
  • Develop promotion plans with content strategists and manage sponsorship opportunities, website updates, targeted emails, and social media.
  • Measure event success and ROI, leading to continuous improvement and future planning.
  • Oversee promotional merchandise programs, including vendor relationships, inventory management, fulfillment, and reporting.
  • Perform competitive analysis at tradeshows and report findings to marketing leadership.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and recommend applications to enhance the event experience.
  • Administer marketing spend reports and coordinate expense reporting with accounting.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of successful event marketing or project management experience, preferably in corporate events and tradeshows.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, using initiative to complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Experience with CRM, spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Self-motivated with strong project management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Basic understanding of event management.
  • Understanding of the Marketing Demand Funnel and the role of events within it.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with vendor management and promotional merchandise programs.
  • Knowledge of industry trends related to event marketing.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including sales, product, and marketing.

Qualifications

  • Experience in event marketing or project management in a corporate setting.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Relevant experience in demand generation or marketing strategy is a plus.
