This role goes beyond typical marketing-it's a critical partner to business development and operational leaders in winning complex work and shaping strategic positioning. You'll be a trusted advisor in pursuit strategy, proposal excellence, and client engagement, thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a direct impact on growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the Digital, Comms and Creative Services teams to facilitate strategic pursuits campaign planning, messaging, and planning of thought leadership initiatives, client events, conferences, advertising, social media, etc. to advance services and reputation with target clients/sectors.
  • Supports Business Development (BD) in annual business planning related to client events, conferences, sponsorships, advertising, etc.
  • Provides marketing support to key initiatives through creation of brochures, brown bag materials, etc. focused on technical capabilities and benefits.
  • Develops capture planning facilitation skills to guide long-term pursuit development strategies and tactics.
  • Leads development of highly complex proposals, presentations, and marketing materials using Winning on the Left (WOTL) principles and Level of Effort (LOE) guidelines.
  • Helps pursuit teams develop sales messages, benefits, and compelling experience narratives to win new work.
  • Partners with BD to set and meet proposal development schedules, coordinate assignments, facilitate storyboarding, help write qualification sections, format and edit content, review for RFP compliance, quality, and messaging, and oversee or complete production and delivery.
  • Supports interview and presentation preparation including content development, Q&A prep, platform skills training, and coaching.
  • Supports strategic client relationship development by understanding client goals, opportunity creation, positioning, and pursuit execution.
  • Conducts research about clients and competitors through various sources and direct interactions.
  • Helps identify gaps in knowledge and strategize methods to deepen understanding, tracking actions and progress.
  • Leverages debrief information to enhance client relationships and pursuit positioning.
  • Prepares for strategic client engagement activities such as sales meetings, industry events, and conferences.
  • Maintains and leverages marketing information using systems like Cosential, Monday.com, Salesforce, and Open Asset.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and drives actions to support team goals, including proactive client development and pursuit positioning.
  • Collaborates effectively with the broader marketing team and acts as a resource for others.
  • Supports onboarding and training of new staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Communications, Design, Business or a related field or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in proposal and presentation planning and coordination, page layout, drafting tailored proposal content, graphics development, and editing (AEC industry a plus).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with emphasis on persuasive writing and presentation ability.
  • Experience coaching others in interviews and presentations preferred.
  • Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and MS Office, especially PowerPoint.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
  • Experience with strategic sales training activities such as Winning on the Left and Capture Planning.
  • Ability to think strategically and support long-term pursuit positioning.
  • Demonstrated leadership within marketing teams and management skills for advanced roles.
