About the Role

The Community Relations & Marketing Specialist enhances the patient and employee experience, reputation, and growth for the hospital and hospital-owned practices as a member of the External Relations team. This role supports the entire Pullman Regional organization, working onsite with the marketing team to develop relationships with employees, physicians, vendors, and supporters. The position involves executing strategic marketing plans, managing online reputation, supporting community and internal relations, and contributing to organizational communication efforts to promote healthcare excellence and community health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works under the supervision of the Director of External Relations to develop and execute communications and marketing strategies in a team environment.
  • Implements best practices in online reputation management as identified in policies, hospital leadership, or the marketing and communications team.
  • Supports patient experience initiatives by teaching AIDET trainings, evaluating patient satisfaction themes, and assisting with process improvement projects.
  • Monitors, reports, and responds to online patient feedback to support reputation management.
  • Creates, schedules, and tracks engagement for social media content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Supports internal community relations activities including employee appreciation, content creation for internal communications, and updating the intranet.
  • Maintains hospital’s LinkedIn profile, supports talent recruitment efforts, and manages community volunteer programs.
  • Helps coordinate community outreach events such as fairs, sports physicals, and flu clinics.
  • Assists with medical minute videos, podcast coordination, and donor/patient storytelling to support reputation and community engagement.

Requirements

  • Accomplished verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical ability, especially related to patient experience.
  • Experience with social media platforms and content posting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to understand and convey the brand through visual and written communications.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with various teams.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree, preferably in communications or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a communications or customer service role.
  • Experience in organizational reputation management, including managing LinkedIn, social media, and online reviews.
  • Experience volunteering for a non-profit or healthcare organization.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools such as web CMS (e.g., Hubspot), analytics, SEO, and marketing automation.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of marketing strategies and techniques.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry.
