About the Role

The Marketing Technology Lead at UPMC is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of various marketing platforms, overseeing platform reporting, and managing projects to meet business goals. The role involves acting as a liaison between IT support staff, marketing staff, and different lines of business, with a focus on platform integration, APIs, data quality, and workflow processes. The ideal candidate has a passion for software solutions and problem-solving for business users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage aspects of various marketing platforms, including vendor relationships, administrative functions, contracting, process improvements, user account permissions, and reporting.
  • Participate in SAFe Agile practices, helping to drive continuous improvement for the Marketing department.
  • Be the first line of support for marketing platform issues and coordinate with internal and external support staff when needed.
  • Manage ad-hoc projects such as platform integration, single sign-on functionality, and system updates.
  • Monitor vendor platform upgrades, communicate changes to the department, and support staff during these updates.
  • Perform business analyst functions to evaluate marketing software and platforms to address business needs.
  • Act as a liaison between internal departments and vendors to implement cross-departmental marketing platforms and develop operational processes.
  • Develop efficient data structures, inputs, and processes for marketing platforms, considering data format changes and their upstream/downstream effects.
  • Maintain platform utilization statistics and reporting to support increased system use by marketing staff.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on API documentation and platform data elements for implementation projects and reporting needs.
  • Lead or assist in communication between IT and Marketing staff for issue resolution via ticketing systems.
  • Document processes and maintain platform information in the Marketing Knowledgebase.
  • Support team members with project management, operational reporting, and leadership tasks.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years supporting automation, system deployment, or technical integration between platforms.
  • Knowledge of platform evaluation processes and experience writing business requirements.
  • Understanding of data used in operations reporting and the functions of various IT roles.
  • Ability to align business processes with software capabilities and document work clearly.
  • Structured, organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Experience managing support calls with vendor support staff and making configuration changes in software systems.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Workfront and Workfront Fusion for process automation.
  • Knowledge of MS CoPilot is a plus.
  • SAFe Agile certifications are a plus.
