Currently undergoing a companywide transformation, Herff Jones is seeking a Director of eCommerce to lead the digital foundation, shape the online customer experience, and drive growth across all product lines in a complex B2B and B2C environment. The role offers an opportunity to design and grow a modern digital commerce platform, balancing consumer-facing experiences with institutional needs, and enabling independent sales channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a companywide eCommerce strategy that aligns with Herff Jones' overall business objectives and growth goals.
  • Elevate the customer experience by creating a seamless, user-friendly, and mobile-optimized online journey for students, parents, alumni, and schools.
  • Drive digital revenue growth by expanding online sales channels, improving conversion rates, and introducing new digital offerings.
  • Lead eCommerce innovation by staying ahead of consumer trends, digital marketing strategies, and emerging technologies in retail and education markets.
  • Integrate eCommerce with sales teams and ISP models, ensuring digital tools complement and enhance the efforts of independent sales partners.
  • Strengthen cross-functional alignment with channel, marketing, product, operations, and IT to ensure smooth execution of eCommerce initiatives.
  • Leverage analytics and data-driven insights to optimize site performance, improve customer engagement, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to expand and enhance digital marketing and merchandising capabilities, including SEO, paid media, personalization, and product presentation.
  • Enhance operational processes by streamlining order management, fulfillment, and customer service within the eCommerce channel.
  • Build and lead a culture of continuous improvement by testing, measuring, and iterating on digital initiatives to accelerate growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Marketing, eCommerce, Digital Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in B2B eCommerce or digital sales enablement.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong ability to build and sustain cross-functional relationships across sales, marketing, IT, operations, and product teams.
  • Experience supporting a 1099 sales model is considered a strong plus.
  • Ability to operate successfully in fast-changing, undefined, or rapidly scaling environments.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree (MBA or related) with emphasis on strategy, digital commerce, or marketing.
