About the Role

The Metro Market Sales Manager in Bronx, NY, is responsible for establishing distribution and developing sales of company products such as Zig-Zag, Fre, and Stokers within an assigned metro city. The role involves managing retail and wholesale accounts, increasing product visibility and availability, and executing sales strategies through outside sales activities. The position requires daily travel to customer locations, with up to 25% overnight travel, and aims to achieve sales and distribution goals in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment within the company's focus on branded consumer products for adult consumers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sales and distribution within the designated geography, focusing on a specific Metro City, to achieve annual goals including merchandising as needed.
  • Sell company initiatives via in-store cash sales to new business partners in under-developed markets, including gaining new item distribution, executing pricing and promotional plans, and managing inventory levels and freshness.
  • Leverage data and available information to conduct fact-based conversations with new and existing business partners to meet sales objectives.
  • Track and measure progress against sell-in initiatives and goals, and partner with your manager to adjust plans as needed.
  • Manage a product contingency fund to ensure product availability, support promotions, and address low or out-of-stock situations.
  • Handle administrative requirements such as managing point of sale materials.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that influence successful business outcomes.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to develop creative solutions in various selling situations.
  • Ability to build financially astute and analytically driven sales plans that generate results.
  • Purposeful planning and prioritization of initiatives with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics.
  • Ability to develop new account relationships and collaborate well in a team environment.
  • Motivated, self-starter with dedication to business growth and ability to create new sales opportunities in under-developed markets.
  • Willingness to foster new relationships with limited previous sales history.
  • Proficiency with technological platforms, especially CRM systems like Salesforce, and ability to learn new systems.
  • Prior sales experience or strong commitment to a fast-paced learning environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds of product or marketing materials.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements and compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including FDA regulations.

Nice to Have

  • Working knowledge of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and/or sales experience in a similar industry.

Qualifications

  • Prior meaningful sales experience or strong commitment to a fast-paced learning environment.
  • Ability to create and execute sales plans based on data and market analysis.
