This role reports to the Director, Cybersecurity Programs, and is crucial in driving execution of multiple cybersecurity projects within a large, complex, global environment, supporting strategic objectives and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent cybersecurity projects and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, security priorities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and dependencies, to ensure successful delivery across all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee program-level coordination and integration of related projects, ensuring consistency in execution and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor project and program performance, proactively identify and resolve issues, and escalate risks to senior leadership as needed.
  • Facilitate project initiation, stakeholder alignment, and team mobilization through structured kickoff and planning sessions.
  • Drive adoption of project management standards, methodologies, and tools established by the IT PMO across all cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Ensure Cybersecurity program and project compliance with IT PMO governance requirements, including reporting, documentation, and lifecycle controls.
  • Identify gaps in existing project management processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and delivery quality.
  • Develop and maintain Cybersecurity-specific project management templates, workflows, and operational processes that align with IT PMO standards while addressing the unique needs of cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Champion continuous improvement in project execution by leveraging lessons learned, stakeholder feedback, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to ensure stakeholder awareness and understanding of project goals, timelines, and impacts.
  • Foster engagement and alignment by tailoring messaging for executive leadership, business units, and technical teams.
  • Facilitate regular status updates, executive briefings, and stakeholder workshops to promote transparency and collaboration.
  • Proactively assess resource capacity and demand across multiple projects, identifying gaps and working with leadership to prioritize and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to project teams, guiding them through complex challenges, removing roadblocks, and ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead the coordination of internal and external resources—including cybersecurity SMEs, technical teams, vendors, and consultants—to ensure effective execution of project deliverables and strategic alignment.
  • Mentor junior project managers and contribute to team development.
  • Facilitate regular risk review sessions with project teams and leadership to monitor evolving risks, validate mitigation effectiveness, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Lead structured issue resolution processes, ensuring timely identification, escalation, and resolution of project blockers, resource constraints, and stakeholder concerns.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers, mitigation strategies, and contingency plans tailored to cybersecurity initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience and 6+ years in program or project management roles.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder communications and resource coordination.
  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks (e.g., NIST, NICE).
  • Strategic thinking with a focus on execution, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Ability to mentor and lead teams in a dynamic environment.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP) in relevant disciplines.

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP) are preferred.
